Album Productions : Since I generally find this sort of work to be overwrought, difficult, exhausting, etc. I do not perform production tasks for just anybody who asks. I generally only produce records for myself and those who I am either personally or musically excited about. If you are interested in hiring me, I need to hear the best available example of your pre-production work or other releases to decide if I can work with you or not. Don't take it personally if I don't do it. It never hurts to ask. Heck, you just might be that rare unknown bird that comes out of nowhere and blows me away (this was Arab on Radar in 1998!!!)

Digital Mastering Work: I would be more than happy to perform digital pre-mastering services (including editing, eq, limiting, compression, balancing, statistical analysis (including phase), bit depth or sample rate changes, output to master CD-R with cue sheets, etc.) on a fast, modern PC monitored through a NAD amplifier and Advent speakers. The emphasis is on my ears, knowledge and ingenuity, not anal, high-end audiophile work and my price reflects this accordingly. If you feel that no other mastering engineer has understood your work, give me a try. I understand what it's like to be frustrated with outside technicians. I am primarily interested in what YOU want as opposed to putting my own creative stamp on your work (although I can do that if you like).

the releases listed below are what I feel to be the best work I've done (on technical as well as aesthetic levels) in regards to mastering - if you need to check out my work please refer primarily to the CD versions of these titles. In most cases, the vinyl versions sound noticably duller due to shoddy lacquer cutting and/or pressing (i.e. not my fault - be sure to ask for my opinion on this matter):

 As a mastering engineer, my goals are:

1) to creatively "sweeten" final mixes to the client's specifications by utilizing various approaches learned through my diverse experience with audio processing and

2) to completely prep people's projects so that the least amount of correction needs to be done at the plant and a flat transfer can be requested in order to avoid additional (and usually costly) measures on the manufacturing end.

I do not do tape transfers (other than DAT or cassette) and I do not cut laquers. I prefer to receive raw materials as WAV data files on CD-R at 44.1 khz and with the higest bit depth possible. Please email me to get a quote before sending any materials and absolutely do not send me the only master copy - send a backup or duplicate copy of the master. I will not be responsible for materials lost in the mail.

To date I have completed more than 50 projects for various bands, labels and artists. my prices are sliding scale rates based on the actual time and effort involved in the project as well whether the project is for individuals, independent labels or major/established labels. bear in mind that very often the results are partially dependent on the quality of the source material, but i am equally confident about handling high-, mid- and lo-fidelity source material. My prices are very competitive and in most cases my turn-around time is extremely quick.
