"I remember
these photos from some local paper [new york rocker]. This was an a street
event held a few blocks south of Canal on Sixth Ave. This was memorable event
for me as it was the one where John Zorn (still in his ZZ Top style beard
and on his bicycle) watched me play the saxophone and gave me an extreme look
of contempt (not undeserved in a way). He was a friend of someone in the group.
He later came up to me and commented about my playing in a snotty way. The
moment that still brings pride to me was when I retorted, "But I can't play
the saxophone!" He immediately ended the conversation and went away."
